VEX Robotic
Since 2025 | School Wide
"Hands-on VEX Robotics program ignites creativity, builds STEM skills, and prepares future innovators."
Twice a Month
We are proud to announce that this school year, we are starting a new program in Science Hands On. It includes Engineering (VEX GO), Robotics (VEX 123), and Coding (VEX AIM).
The school invested ¥2,000,000 for your child to learn new things, and develop the complex cognitive skills that involves multiple brain regions working together, particularly the cerebral cortex and its frontal lobes responsibles for higher-level thinking, cognition, and information processing, is essential for scientific reasoning. Da Vinci is the first school in Okinawa launching this innovating program.
Here you have a summary about what is included:
1⃣ VEX GO is an educational robotics and construction system designed to learn the fundamentals of Science, Tecnology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) through hands-on. The system uses color-coded parts that snap together easily, allowing young students to quickly build and code working robots.
• Block-based coding: Students can program their robots using the VEXcode GO app, a block-based drag-and-drop coding interface that introduces the basics of computer science.
• It has s a robust collection of STEM Labs with step-by-step lesson plans and supplemental activities. The curriculum is aligned with educational standards.
• Competition opportunities: VEX GO offers thematic classroom competitions in national and international level..
2⃣ VEX 123 Students are introduced to the engineering design process, computational thinking, and core concepts of robotics in a tangible, fun way and intuitive design. The robot features a friendly, colorful design with touch-sensitive buttons for easy control. It can be programmed in three distinct ways, offering a flexible learning experience as students' skills progress.
Three ways to code:
◦ Touch and Go: sensory system. Engaging sensors and feedback: The robot is equipped with programmable lights and sounds, along with a gyroscope, accelerometer, and optical sensor. These features allow for projects that involve precise movements, turns, and interactions with the environment.
◦ Screen-free, wireless programming, a separate device called the Coder is used with physical coding cards.
◦ Using Screens: This block-based coding software, powered by Scratch, is available on tablets. It offers a drag-and-drop interface for more complex programming and unlocks the robot's full capabilities.
3⃣ VEX AIM is an educational coding robot that teaches computer science and artificial intelligence (AI) concepts through hands-on, project-based learning. VEX AIM system include:
• AI Vision Sensor: This is a core component that allows the robot to detect and interact with objects, colors, and markers called AprilTags. This sensor enables activities centered on AI concepts like computer vision and perception.
• Omnidirectional drive: The robot's three-wheel holonomic drivetrain allows it to move smoothly and precisely in any direction.
• Variety of coding methods: The system supports multiple coding levels. Beginners can use the handheld controller or "Button Coding" directly on the robot. More experienced students can use VEXcode software with block-based coding, then seamlessly transition to Python.

Motorsports
Since 2024 | School Wide
"The Motorsports Program builds confidence, focus, and teamwork through cycling, mini-motorcycling, and go-karting."
Twice a Year
At Da Vinci International School, we’re committed to offering unique opportunities that spark passion and unlock potential. Our brand-new Motorsports Program is designed to introduce students to the thrilling world of motorsports while fostering essential life skills like discipline, problem-solving, and teamwork.
The program begins with our youngest participants—Kindergarten, Preschool, and students under 130 cm—who start by mastering balance and coordination through Strider bikes and beginner cycling. Once they become confident racers on striders and learn to ride a bicycle, they’ll progress to the next exciting level.
For students 130 cm and taller, the program expands to include hands-on training in mini-motorcycling and go-karting. Under expert supervision and with safety as our top priority, students will learn the fundamentals of vehicle control, mechanics, and track safety. Through engaging practice sessions, students will develop precision, focus, and the confidence to succeed in a highly dynamic environment.
This program is more than just a sports activity—it’s an opportunity to introduce students to the world of motorsports from a young age, opening doors to a sport they may never have experienced otherwise. By participating, our students gain a unique edge, combining physical and mental challenges with the thrill of speed and competition.
At Da Vinci International School, we believe in igniting dreams and encouraging new possibilities. Our Motorsports Program is a testament to this commitment, giving every student the chance to race toward their fullest potential.

Morning Exercise
Since 2015 | School Wide
"Daily morning exercise boosts focus, resilience, and teamwork, preparing students for success."
Everyday
At Da Vinci International School, we believe that a healthy body supports a healthy mind. That’s why we’ve integrated a daily morning exercise program into our curriculum to energize students and set them up for success throughout the day.
Every morning, students participate in 40 to 50 minutes of enjoyable physical activities, tailored to their age group. For younger students, cardio exercises are presented as fun and engaging games, while junior high and high school studentstake on more structured activities like track and field and sports training. These sessions promote fitness, teamwork, and a sense of accomplishment while keeping the experience enjoyable and inclusive.
Our morning exercise program is carefully designed to produce measurable benefits:
-
Improved Focus and Energy Levels: Students enter the classroom ready to learn, showing higher engagement and concentration.
-
Emotional Resilience: We’ve observed drastically lower levels of emotional breakdowns, crying, tantrums, and other negative behaviors.
-
Enhanced Cognitive Processes: Exercise promotes neuroplasticity and new brain cell growth, boosting memory, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
-
Better Attention and Hyperactivity Regulation: Activities reduce stress and help balance neurotransmitters, improving focus and self-control.
-
Social Development: Group exercises encourage teamwork, communication, and cooperation, fostering stronger peer relationships through endorphin-boosting activities.
-
Motor Skill Development: Students improve their gross and fine motor skills through running, jumping, and coordination exercises, building physical confidence.
As a result, our students demonstrate notable improvements in academic performance, emotional stability, and social interactions, equipping them with skills that go beyond the classroom.
At Da Vinci, we’re proud to provide a program that instills the value of a healthy lifestyle while ensuring students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. By starting the day with movement, we prepare our students not just for their lessons, but for life.

Financial Literacy
Since 2023 | School Wide
"Financial Literacy equips students with practical money management skills for personal and community success."
A Supplementary Material of Math
At Da Vinci International School, we believe that understanding money management is a vital life skill. That’s why we’ve introduced Financial Literacy as an integral part of our curriculum, ensuring students from all grade levels gain the knowledge and tools needed to make informed financial decisions.
This program goes beyond theory, offering students hands-on experiences that teach them the fundamentals of earning, spending, saving, and borrowing. Through interactive lessons and practical exercises, students learn how to set budgets, manage resources, and plan for future goals. They also explore the value of hard work, the importance of saving for long-term benefits, and the ethical considerations of helping others.
By engaging in real-world scenarios, such as creating mock budgets or participating in classroom “marketplaces,” students gain confidence in handling money responsibly. These activities instill critical thinking and decision-making skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
Our Financial Literacy program also emphasizes the broader societal impact of financial choices. Students explore how responsible money management can benefit not only their personal lives but also their families and communities. The program encourages a mindset of generosity, empathy, and sustainability, helping students grow into conscientious and capable individuals.
At Da Vinci, we are proud to prepare our students for a future where they can confidently navigate the complexities of personal and community finances. By empowering them with these essential skills, we equip them to make a positive, lasting impact on their own lives and the world around them.
